Maike Barteldres

Maike mixes cast silver with a wide range of stones both precious and non precious. Her different collections use pebbles, slate, volcanic stone and marble. Where silver is used in conjunction with stone, Maike drills through the polished stone and casts directly onto the stone making a secure fixture. The silver is rough finished to further contrast with the smoothness of the stone which is often left with a natural, broken edge exposing the structure.
