Kate Byrne

Kate's studio sculpture arises from the study of animals and plant life; her favourite subject being birds - exotic and extinct. Each piece is hand built, painted with oxides and engobes.

Kate has worked as a design consultant for a Philippines ceramic business and designed for several British pottery companies. In 2000 she wrote “Painting on Ceramics” for Conran Octopus.

Following a year’s break to undertake a teacher’s training course, Kate is now back in the studio with new designs in tow.
