Sue Gregor

I want my work to be a part of daily life. I feel jewellery to be both intimate and public. My starting point is my interest in the place of art within our culture. I look at the context of the interaction.

I like to play with assumptions making the viewer review the familiar. Moving on from a modernist approach to materials and plastic products from Hong Kong, I set out to create a marriage between the industrial and the organic. The acrylic has fine detail 'fossilised' onto its surface. I want to create a feeling of celebration between material and subject.
