Laurie Hastings

Laurie Hastings is an illustrator, designer and printmaker based in Edinburgh.

Laurie strives to produce images that capture and communicate the imagery and narrative of a text. Her personal work is inspired by urban landscapes; exploring the interplay of buildings and structures, the moods and rhythms of a city and the people living within it.

She works by developing drawings into collages and digital illustrations, then using the process of silk screen printing to build up layers of delicate colour.

Born in Hong Kong, Laurie graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2004 with a BA Honours degree in Illustration. She studied at Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, while on placement, and at Chelsea College of Art, London, during her art foundation course.
