Jeremy trained as a fine artist with a particular interest in wildlife. At the end of his three year degree course at Exeter he graduated with honours. From here, he undertook a Masters Degree in ceramics at Cardiff and has continued to work in clay since then.
One of Jeremy’s favourite creatures to sculpt is the hare. Never sentimental with his handling of the animal, his hares roll, lounge and leap, their ears flying and their limbs thin and powerful. Jeremy always starts his sculptures with numerous sketches that he draws on field visits. The drawings are used as working drawings as Jeremy builds the piece from the base upwards, working in the textures as he goes.
