Ian MacIntyre

Ian specialises in painting and printmaking. He paints in mixed media and oils, and frequently references early 20th century Cubist artists such as Picasso and Goncharova.

The relief prints are based on everyday happenings and social events in the area around which Ian lives, for example, Pittenweem fireworks, in a local fishing town.

The prints are created by cutting away a design from a print block and then repeatedly inking up with different colours and printing onto paper, this is known as ‘reduction’ printing.

These prints are original artists prints and although they are created in small editions, each one will differ from the next in the way it has been inked up.
