In her own work, Sue uses various techniques to create two distinct ranges of work, the first, kiln-formed pieces utilising clay moulds and mirror, these are inspired by her fascination with the textures of rocks created by erosion and human activity; the second, hot-poured and sand cast glass manipulated whilst molten, and cut and polished once cold, is influenced by her love of the Cornish Coastline.
Sue’s work is inspired by the environment; her interest in geology and its forms and textures, the sea and coastline of the West Country where she grew up.
