Camilla Ward

The forms are handbuilt free-form from soft slabs of terracotta clay. The surfaces are derived from underglaze, slip, engobes and glazes, often they are scratched or embossed before or after forming.

Camilla likes the work to be tactile and accessable and welcomes handling of the pieces, adding little blobs, teeth or tablets of glaze and clay that invite touch.

Although the vessels are not intended to be functional, they can be used if desired.
